God will give you Strength when you need it

(The Christian life)

Isaiah 40:29-31

 “…those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength…”

Many people get tired and exhausted literally and emotionally in life by both tragic and stressful events as well as the day-to-day grind in life. Those who get this physically/emotionally drained get desperate to have strength left even hoping to have strength left for tomorrow. Why life can be draining enough those of us trying to live a life for God can be evermore draining/stressful but fortunately God is there for us in our weakest: Because God promises to those humans who have put their trust in him that he will not let them fall in exhaustion and give up, but  he promises to empower them so they will find the strength to overcome anything: no matter how grueling and long the situation may be.

God promises us this through the prophet Isaiah’s proclamation about him:

Isaiah 40:29-31

He (God) gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths (teenagers) grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope (trust) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint(tired).”

 Everyone gets tired once in a while even the most energetic of humans: teenagers and young adults eventually get tired in life, but as Christians, we do not have to worry about tiredness when we have God’s help, because he has all the strength we could ever need.

King David's strength

King David is one of the most famous King and saint of Ancient Israel/The Old Testament: many remember him as the famous warrior who killed a giant with only a slingshot and stone. However, King David also went through much persecution under the power of evil King Saul who hunted him down and drove him into exile for a while. How did David deal with all this? How did he take down a giant by himself? Was he just that brave and strong? King David reveals the secret to his strength in his song: 

Psalm 28:7

"The Lord is my strength...My heart trusts in him, and he helps me."

David says he only could endure all of this because God was his strength! And he was his strength because he put his total trust in him (just like God says through Isaiah) and because of this God gave him the strength/help he needed in every situation! 

Paul: The secret to overcoming any situation

Paul had to endure a lot and do a lot of preaching to reach the lost: this included traveling to a lot of cities and Providences, taking and preaching to a lot of people, and especially experiencing much persecution and physical pain. Surely with challenges like this Paul would get extremely exhaust physically and emotionally. But Paul learned the secret to enduring any situation: Out of all the traveling, preaching, persecution and hardship he had to face, he said he could do anything because of this:  

Philippians 4:12-13

“I have learned the secret of being content [enduring] in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Paul said even with all this energy being given to him he still had to strain to complete his mission:

Colossians 1:28

“…I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.

Paul could only endure all this through God giving him strength because he was a human who trusted in him! He truly could do anything if God was with him!

Paul also wanted other Christians he was over to experience this power through the holy spirit within them:

Ephesians 3:16

“...I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being... 

So, no matter what you are going through God is able and will give you strength to get through it!

My Testimony of this

I can personally testify to this: at my former work I used to do a lot of walking serving drinks and stocking up everything it could get exhausting, especially on a Sunday. One Sunday I was halfway through the day, and I began to feel so tired and weary so I didn’t think I could make it through. But I went to the back for a second and prayed to God to give me the strength to get through the day. Not too much later I miraculously felt better and normal: now usually this weakness is cause by low blood sugar and I have to eat/drink something for this feeling to go away but I didn’t eat anything this time and then I got through the day fine I never had this feeling before and was pretty sure God was giving me strength.
